SERIES Of The WEEK: Sex & The City

Can we still see it a series or should we start considering it as a movie..?
All I’m sure about is that the series is just unforgettable (as its success) and so it is the movie!

By the way, we’re all waiting for the sequel…some voices say that Britney Spears might join the cast as Carrie’s (Sarah Jessica Parker) cousin coming to the city without any kind of experience of Manhattan’s lifestyle.
Maybe her contribute to the sitcom How I Met Your Mother could provide to Miss Britney B*tch a good part in a “billboard” movie…

Anyway, let’s go back to the series…and caution to those who defined dead or finished. It became the movie and now its sequel.

4 single ladies from downtown (even if they have their own “up-town” style) strongly connected to each other by their true, deep and endless friendship; with the special and almost endless love-hate-betray story between Carrie and Mr. Big.

Most of them look for love, each one in her personal way (more traditional or not), others just wanna be WOman: act and be as men do, looking for great sex with no complications.
We hated them, loved ‘em, depended on ‘em, dreamed with ‘em and most of all waited for them! To see them again on the big screen!

A little bit farther from the set there’s the sad reality of our “heroines”, pretty far from being the best of friends. Especially if we focus on the problems between Sarah Jessica Parker (the starring writer Carrie) and Kim Cattrall (the P.R. Samantha) who requested to be on video for the exact same minutes as Sarah, and to be paid equally as well.

HBO gifted us this special series that has become something more, but still is our Sex & the city.
Just one thing: We want the sequel!

Absofuckinglutely!

HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL – The Unstopping’ Success?

Isn’t that strange? I mean of course it was a big production by Disney, having beautiful pop songs for kids, love stories between the starring characters (fakes or not), and amazing group choreography…

But isn’t it a little too much success? I was ok with the 2nd one, but even a 3rd?

Will these actors ever have the chance to “escape” from this? I think they could get caught up in the Disney vision forever and never have the chance to do something different!

I mean, could u picture Zac Efron or Vanessa Hudgens as a mixed-up kid? Or an evil killer?
They’ll always be the perfect young couple of Disney.

I know some of them tried to enter the music business (Vanessa herself, Ashley Tisdale…), but c’mon don’t we already have too many kids trying to make music?
Pop music doesn’t mean ridiculous, it’s just pop, and it’s not for everybody.

I guess the success will be worldwide but I’m wondering about what is gonna happen then… when their public would be grown up enough as them…

Will we see them again?
Let’s just wait!

ANNIE LENNOX - WHY Live (Video + Lyrics)

In occasion of the release of her Greatest Hits (The Annie lennox Collection) I thought it was right to remember this amazing song by this special artist. This live version is just incredible.

Visit SING, her ONG campaign to help children in Africa. U can have information directly from her official YouTube channel.
LYRICS:

How many times do I have to try to tell you That I'm sorry for the things I've done
But when I start to try to tell you That's when you have to tell me
Hey... this kind of trouble's only just begun
I tell myself too many times
Why don't you ever learn to keep your big mouth shut?
That's why it hurts so bad to hear the words
That keep on falling from your mouth
Falling from your mouth...Tell me...
Why?

I may be mad, I may be blind, I may be viciously unkind
But I can still read what you're thinking And I've heard is said too many times
That you'd be better off besides...
Why can't you see this boat is sinking? (this boat is sinking...)
Let's go down to the water's edge and we can cast away those doubts, some things are better left unsaid
But they still turn me inside out, Turning inside out turning inside out
Tell me...Why?

This is the book I never read, These are the words I never said
This is the path I'll never tread, These are the dreams I'll dream instead
This is the joy that's seldom spread, These are the tears...
The tears we shed, This is the fear, This is the dread
These are the contents of my head
And these are the years that we have spent
And this is what they represent
And this is how I feel
Do you know how I feel ?
'cause i don't think you know how I feel
I don't think you know what I feel
You don't know what I feel

IN THE PALM OF OUR HANDS

Is it so? Is the world in the palm of our hands?

For sure Internet made it a lot easier than ever: everything seems touchable, close. U can communicate, buy, share, comment, watch, chat…
We can explore every single little street of every country in the whole world. We can see it as a Map, as a Satellite’s image or as a real Street View.

We can search everything, everywhere and find it in a few seconds.
But…are we really controlling the world or not…

Isn’t the Internet itself controlling our habits, even the simplest ones?
Could we live without YouTube, Facebook, eBay or iTunes? Could we not anymore download or share files? Could we forget about Skype and videochattin’?
I’m pretty sure it would turn out harder than we could imagine. But is this wrong?

Maybe there’s not a right answer, but we can all assume the overcoming power of Internet in the media’s world. Now everything has its link to the web, its website, its channel on YouTube.
We’re all on Facebook, or Twenty or MySpace or similar. It seems there’s no privacy, we don’t anymore communicate as well as before.

How many of us knew their partners on Internet?
We watch TV’s Shows and Movies on Internet; we watch and listen to music on Internet as well. We buy everything, even food on Internet.

Aren’t we changing a little too much?
The world looks always more like MATRIX while the Earth’s headed to an auto-destruction. The LiveEarth didn’t work out so well. There are no positive results so far.

Music and artists tried to say something, and as a paradox Internet helped as well!
What’s wrong whit us people? Don’t we ever learn to make good use of what we have?

Let’s remember it sometimes, even in a simple Blog as mine.
LoX.

DAKOTA FENNING – A Brilliant Young Shining Star

Do we remember that little acting child?

Blond hairs, deep blue eyes..? A super talented little lady..?
Today’s Dakota is a splendid 16years old girl, more beautiful than ever.

In the last weeks there’s been a lot of talking about her and her appearance on New Moon (Twilight’s sequel by Stephen Mayer) and her extraordinary performance on Push with Chris Evans. Never seen a 13years old girl like that! Simply amazing!

The girl already had the occasion to work with incredible actors (some of them won several Golden Globes and Oscars) on hit/successful movies like The War Of The Worlds (as Tom Cruise’s daughter), I Am Sam (with Sean Penn), Man On Fire (with Denzel Washington).

She also appeared on super famous series such as Friends (Season 10), Ally McBeal (Season 3), E.R. (Season 6), CSI (Season 1), and The Ellen Show (as a young version of Ellen herself).

I dedicate this post to her, because I’ve always considered Dakota a brilliant actress and now I’m sure more than ever.

I think she’ll make a great big step in Hollywood industry/business.
I wouldn’t dislike hearing her singing; it seems a little pretty voice!
PS
Girl, you can’t even imagine how many of us would have loved to hug Chris like u just did on Push!! Great job!!

SONG OF THE WEEK: Poker Face – Lady Gaga

Lady Gaga - Poker Face
I’ve chosen this number 1 hit on the base of popularity.

I mean, is there anyone not knowing/singing/hating/loving or dancing to this song?

Another interesting thing bout this peculiar artist is her rapper-man style: if you listen to the song or simply watch her video without knowing, it'll seem to u a man’s song.

U start to think that there are gorgeous ladies dancers coming all around the singer playing poker in perfect womanizer style (as Miss Britney B*tch would say!).

The song is a simple mix of pop-techno-dance, nothing extraordinary but pretty catchy. In the chorus she almost gets to look like Christina Aguilera (ps. I really do not like Miss Xstina!)

She has her own personality, is different, commercial but different.

Can we or can we not read that poker face??

SERIES OF THE WEEK: Beverly Hills 90210

I decide to dedicate this Saturday to one of those series we never really “got over it”.

Characters such as Brandon & Brenda, Kelly, Dylan, Donna, David, Andrea, Steve, Valery are really hard to forget.

It was one of the first series talking about high school issues, of course in a 90’s view. It opened the door to series such as Dawson’s Creek, The OC and most recently Gossip Girl.

None of the cast succeeded in becoming a “movie actor” but some of them kept on gifting us with a smile like Jennie Garth (Kelly) in the 4 seasons sitcom What I Like About You; or fulfilling the gossip magazines like the famous “producer’s daughter” Tori Spelling (Donna).

Both of them, even if in a different way, reappear on the spinoff.

Others recently reappeared starring an important character like Brian Austin Green (David) [the guy is just HOTTTTTTTTTTT] in Terminator: The Sarah Connor’s Chronicles.

Anyway we’re talking about a series that’s just back on the screen, in a postmodern version but still 90210.

The spinoff is going pretty well in the US and Canada, indeed the episodes are among the most bought and downloaded on the internet.
I’m strongly convinced that the original Beverly Hills 90210 was, is and will be unique, but I do not dislike the idea of the new version.

I think there should not be a rivality between the 2 versions.

So far, it’s too soon to evaluate, but it seems to promise surprises!!
We’ll so how far it’ll get.

Elisa - Together

Isn't she simply amazing?

She explained she used to sing to this music for some years while showering, coocking or whatever else without never writing real lyrics to edit it.

Then she came out with TOGETHER: one of her best songs ever!!

This girl just rocks!

ELISA TOFFOLI: The Italian Shinin' Star!

Elisa Toffoli (most known simply as Elisa) is an incredible Italian sing-writer.

So far, almost every song she made is in English, excluding a few songs in Italian (5 in 10 years).

She had a little success across Europe but never took a real “flight” to the international music business.

Lately thanks to the appearance of one of her most beautiful song Dancing on a US TV Show, she made it to be noticed in the other side of the world.
So she released DANCING, a recompilation of some of her classics for the American public (including Canada).

She went on tour in the most important cities of both United States and Canada and made it great.

In my opinion she is simply amazing: her voice unique, her music magic, and her lyrics just rock!!

This is the reason why I dedicated a post (first but not last) to her: I wanted to share my passion for her.

So far her albums are:

- Pipes And Flowers
- Asile’s World
- Then Comes The Sun
- Lotus (6 new songs + acoustic versions of her classics and 2 covers)
- Caterpillar (An international album with her classics and some recent songs)
- Soundtrack and Soundtrack Live (Greatest Hits + 4 new hit singles)

I’m waiting for her new album, maybe by the ending of 2009 or beginning of next year.
I won’t be late posting a YouTube interaction of one of her videos.

What do u think?

U2 - Pretty Disappointed!

Get On Your Boots?? That’s it?

I’m pretty shocked myself… U2 is one of the biggest band in the world and even if their music doesn’t really convince me, I was expecting a little bit more!!

So far it’s possible to pre-order the new album No Line On The Horizon (that I’ll wait to comment since I couldn't listen to the tracks yet).

But it is possible to hear, see and watch the “hit” single Get On Your Boots!! Are you kiddin’?

We’re talking about music way under U2’s general standards. It’s a stupid-pop-rocking song…
I understand the fans, indeed the song is going pretty well across Europe (not so good in US) for their loyalty but this song is undoubtedly the worst they ever released!!

I'll give it a shot to the upcoming album hoping it’ll offer something more than the first single.

Though their performance at the Grammy when they had to open the show (it was set for Rihanna but cause of her problems with Chirs Brown she couldn’t appear on the show) went pretty well, the song just sucks!!

I’ll have no words for the video (a little darker-rocker version of NERD’s Pharrel style).

Twilight's OST / Paramore Decode (HQ)

Here's the video to the song Decode by Paramore from the Original SoundTrack of the movie Twilight.

LoX

Twilight - Movies & Soundtracks

It’s undoubtedly a worldwide success: a simple book transformed into such incredible media production.

By the moment the starring actors Robert Pattinson (Edward Cullen in the movie) and Kristen Stewart (Bella) are the most requested in Hollywood and are finding themselves on the front page of every gossip magazine in the world without being aware about when and how it happened.

The sequel New Moon is the most discussed subject in the internet about movies and productions: Is there something going on between the actors? Will he die? Is it true that Robert is having problems about his eyes and hairs?

It’s sure that there’s incredible expectation for the sequel, though it could not be as good as the first one.

The theme of the vampires, that seemed so dead after all the series like Angel, Buffy and the most recent True Blood and movies like Underworld, is just rebirthing through Twilight’s productions.

A different point of view: they’re headed straight to the teenagers, in other words the easiest key to success.

But there’s another super interesting aspect about this movie, and in general related to those successful movies we all love: its soundtrack.

Does the word Paramore or Decode remind you something? Of course it does!!

The song Decode from the group Paramore has made its way into the music business thanks to the movie. They were barely known before and we’ll see how they’ll do after this chaos generated by the production.

What really interests me is the close relationship between movies and soundtracks, the possibility to be there for the other just in case.

As for the movie The Next Best Thing (2000) starring Madonna and Rupert Everett: without the hit single performed by Miss Ciccone herself American Pie, the movie would have just died in 48h!

Or we can name the case of Titanic: did have more success the movie or the song My Heart Will Go On by Celine Dion?

As these ones there are thousands of examples.

I’m just wondering: Who’s gonna be the next lucky “one” for New Moon?

We’ll see!

Kelly Clarkson - My Life Would Suck Without You (Lyrics HQ)

Here's the video I made to the song of the week with complete Lyrics.

Here's the link to see the official ViedoClip on Kelly Clarkson's YouTube page: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bap-oZI-Grc

SONG OF THE WEEK - My Life Would Suck Without You

These lyrics simply rock!!

I never really loved or followed Kelly’s music and career, but she already made some beautiful songs such as Because Of You and Beautiful Disaster; and it has to be said that her last album Breakaway was a great success.

This new one seems like a 2009-verion of Since U’ve Been Gone but has its own sound and spirit.

It’s going pretty well, still to come to Europe but a great enter in US and Canada.

We’re talking about simple pop, nothing extraordinary but surely catchy and full of energy.
I’m a copywriter and in my opinion these lyrics simply rock, and she sings them perfectly, just as they deserved to be “screamed”.

Everyone of us has that special person in his/her life….our life just would suck without ‘em!!

Good job girl! U earned the song of the week!!

SERIES OF THE WEEK - LOST

Lost: the never ending enigma.

How comes it never stop on keeping us waiting impatiently for the next episode?

Like it or not, Lost is one of the most successful series of all times. Indeed in many countries it’s still on top of the preferences.

The new episodes (5 so far) from the 5th season just began on January.

The most famous flight from Oceanic 815 keeps on hiding secretes and unsolved enigmas.

Those who remained (such as Sawyer and John) are travelling back and forward time risking their lives; meanwhile those who left (Benjamin and the Oceanic six: Jack, Sun, Kate, Aaron, Henry and Said), are even more desperate and looking for coming back to the Island or revenge.

In theory 3 years have passed but it seems like it’s not for those who remained.
Jin is alive and he’s meeting the young Danielle whit her team.
And we’re still here, not tired but more interested than ever: the most downloaded torrents in the internet whit subtitles for every language in the whole world, the most bought episodes on iTunes.

As it was predictable, Lost didn’t disappoint.

A 6th season for 2010 has been confirmed, but it’s still unknown if it’ll be the last one.
By the moment let’s enjoy the 5th waiting to discover all we can!!

Let’s dedicate this Saturday to J.J. Abrams' creation.

Who said he couldn’t do any better than Alias? Who’s laughing now?!!

Taylor Swift - White Horse (Music Video)

Here it comes the video from the new single Withe Horse.

In the video, featuring the star Stephen Colletti (One Tree Hill/ Laguna Beach) we can see the girl practicing a little of acting.

Let's say we do prefer her as a singer!!

LoX

Taylor Swift: the girl America has fallen in love with

Her last album Fearless broke any records of selling in US, and still it is in the top 10.

What is that makes u love her?

I think she easily won your heart by simply telling stories: u can enter her 19-years old American girl world and live for a few minutes a little magic, being part of it.

The all 13 tracks from Fearless to Change, have a country-sound in the background but her vocals are so much more in a pop-ballad style and this creates a perfect combination.
Many have named her as the new Britney but I think we’re looking at someone new and different.

She made an excellent job, and for her age the album is just perfect, 10/10. Every song is fresh, u cannot stop like a little book that’s makin’ u laughing and imagining.

The best tracks, in my opinion, are Fearless for its fragile strength, White Horse for its power to involve u in it, and Hey Stephen for how funny, fresh and light it is.

The only question is: Will she have the same success in Europe?
It’s hard to say, her major is waiting to launch it on the EU market.

So far we have the first single Love Story (available in many iTunes European pages) that didn’t make such noise.

It won’t be easy to gain Europe’s love too... Many like Carrie Underwood and Kelly Clarkson couldn’t.

Let’s see what u can do girl!

LiLo (Lindsay Lohan) on Ugly Betty

LiLo appeared on the last episode of season 2 one year ago and now in some of the first episodes of season 3 of Ugly Betty.

As it was predictable she got fired cause of her behavior.

I must say she seems a little confused by the moment (her lesbian phase with the DJ Samantha R. and her career lost between being fired from sets and talking about a new album we didn’t see yet).

Anyhow in my opinion she did a pretty good job on the TV show and it could have lasted more but you know: with LiLo u never know!

Waiting for your album to get off from my mind the scary image of Confession Of A Broken Heart video!

Britney Spears - If You Seek Amy (Lyrics)

Isn’t it too much? IF U SEEK AMY vs F*CK ME??

We’re talking about Britney’s 3rd single from her last successful album CIRCUS recently censured from US radio stations.

Was she looking for controversy? Of course she was!
Are we talking about Miss Britney B*tch or what?

Some radio stations began to edit their own version changing the word “seek” with “see”, and in some cases covering the word “Amy” with higher music/sounds.

As some important executives such as Tommy Chuck (program director for Tampa, Florida's WFLZ) from US radio stations reported: “It's a no-brainer that we would play it, because the song is a hit and people are calling for it like crazy. It may be the best song on the CD!”.

Apparently Britney did it again: while Womanizer and Circus (her two first singles) keep on being in the top 20 and top 10, her upcoming 3rd single is already selling on iTunes, each week more, and of course everybody is talking about it!!

If this isn’t a good promoting job, what else is??

We’ll always keep an eye on our grown little pop princess. She might be loved or hated, but she’s everywhere, just can’t avoid it!

As Madonna’s said: u can like it or not!

The Gay Soldiers - Grey's Anatomy (Kiss Scene)

After all Grey’s Anatomy stuff got through, this scene and its background seems quite a way to redemption for all that happened. (An actor was fired cause of his homophobic aptitude)

But is it so? Or is it a good way to express a message?

I’d like to be trusty on this case and I’ll say congrats to the series.
A very full emotional scene with a big strong message, especially thinking in the US culture.

Gay love as pure love: it doesn’t mean you’re not a man or a soldier, it simply means to love other men.

Who said TV was all about entertainment?

Good Job!

SONG OF THE WEEK - The Fray - Say When (Lyrics)

The first post about pure music.

And it is The Fray, the US band form Denver (Colorado).
They just released on February/02/2009 their second studio album THE FRAY launched by the hit single YOU FOUND ME (dated on November 2008).

SAY WHEN is the track number 5 on the album, and the best one in my opinion.
It perfectly resumes a mix of pop-rock-ballad all at once: changes of rhythms, low and higher singing, and some lyrics that just rock!
I love the romantic background they pushed in the chorus and the strength in the last verses concerning greater things but softly.
There are no names, no ads, everything seems just perfectly equilibrated.

Score: 8/10 – Earned only for merits.

What about next Sunday?

heard some new things in the music business…just wait and check out in less than 7 days.

Gossip Girl - Britney Spears PROMO

Talking ‘bout the devil…

It came to my attention the magnificent by CW for the promotion of the 2nd season of our XOXO’s GOSSIP GIRL a few months ago.

LOST Season 5 Promo - The Fray

What a better way to begin?

The clip was made by ABC in collaboration with Epic Records to launch each one a "media product": The 5th Season of LOST and the new album from the Denver's band The Fray.
They repeat the successfully fusion between TV media and music as they did in 2006 with their hit single “How To Save A Life” (always with ABC but for GREY’S ANATOMY).
Now the channel seems to have chosen a bizarre contrast: soft music/ series full of adrenaline.
Will it be a new success? It seems so…
The mixing was edited (in my opinion) quite well and it’s pretty charming.
Following the TV emission, through the WEB is a no-stop coming of compliments.

What do u think about it?
